DCC Trains: Track Wiring Tips for DCC Model Train Operation
In DCC track wiring, it is important to use insulated joiners to connect frogs to other parts of the track. This is done to avoid a short between a stock rail and the nearby blade, in case the wheels of the locomotives are too close to each other.
To ensure maximum electrical contact between the stock rails and the blades, you need to make sure that the blades are clean.
Alternatively, you can supply the frogs through SPDT switches that are operated by turnout motors. For this the jumpers need to be incised under the turnout.
